Background of IIMC
Established in 1965, IIMC is a deemed-to-be university offering advanced education, training, and research in mass communication. Its main campus is in New Delhi, with regional centres in Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jammu (J&K), and Kottayam (Kerala).
The selected candidates may be posted at any of these campuses or at future IIMC centres within India or abroad.

Eligibility Criteria
Professor
- Ph.D. in Mass Communication or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 research publications in UGC-recognized journals with a research score of 120.
- 10 years of teaching/research experience in university/college or equivalent institutions.
- OR an outstanding professional with Ph.D. and 10 years’ industry/research experience with significant contributions.
Assistant Professor
- Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent) in Mass Communication/related field.
- Must have cleared UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/SLET/SET, OR hold a Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations.
- Candidates with foreign Ph.D. from top 500 universities (QS/THE/ARWU rankings) are also eligible.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Hindi & English (mandatory).
- Proficiency in regional languages (Urdu, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam) for relevant campuses.
- Specialization in Media Management, Strategic Communication, Defence/Political Science, Foreign Policy, New Media Communication, Data Analytics, AR/VR, Adobe Creative Suite etc.
Age Limit
As per UGC Regulations 2018 (no specific maximum age mentioned; eligibility based on qualifications and experience).

Selection Procedure
- Direct recruitment will be based on merit through all-India advertisement and interview by Selection Committee.
- Shortlisting will be done as per UGC Regulations 2018.
- University may also conduct a written test/seminar/lecture demonstration for assessing teaching and research aptitude.
- Final selection will be based on interview performance.
