A tree is more than just a single life; it promises to save countless lives. With this profound belief, the "Positive Barta" platform, in collaboration with the West Bengal Media Forum and various allied organizations, has united under one umbrella with an ambitious goal: to plant one crore (ten million) trees within a year.
This massive initiative is set to officially launch on June 5th, World Environment Day. The program will kick off at locations across the country, including Bolpur Santiniketan Medical College, Swadhin Trust's ITI College, B.Ed College, and Nursing College.
Dr. Malai Pit, CEO of "Positive Barta," stated that organizations affiliated with the "Positive Barta" platform, including the West Bengal Media Forum, as well as teachers and students, are all participating in this monumental endeavor. He emphasized that this tree-planting drive won't be limited to June 5th but will continue throughout the year. "Our sole aim is to make this world a habitable place for children," said Dr. Pit. "It's possible to curb global warming through intensive greening, and everyone needs to come forward. That's exactly what we're doing. Our target is to plant one crore trees in a year, and this work will span across the entire country."
Significantly, "Positive Barta" isn't stopping at just planting trees. The platform is also urging everyone to participate in the conservation of these newly planted trees. To draw public attention to the importance of tree planting, "Positive Barta" and its allied organizations, including the West Bengal Media Forum, plan to use various artistic mediums such as drama, dance, and music.
For the past month, "Positive Barta" has been holding virtual meetings with its affiliated organizations to ensure the success of this program. People from various professions have contributed their valuable insights, and all have unanimously agreed that human civilization cannot survive without tree plantation.
