The Transformative Journey of Mr. Malay Pit

In the heart of rural East Burdwan, where dusty roads meet quiet dreams, a quiet revolution began. A revolution not of noise or protest, but of love, care, and relentless service. This is the story of a man who chose to stay when many left. A man who listened when others ignored. This is the story… of Mr. Malay Pit.

Roots of Resilience: Early Life and Inspiration

Mr. Malay Pit was born in West Bengal, India, into a farming family. His father, Late Mr. Bhairab Chandra Pit, was a hardworking farmer, and his mother was a devoted homemaker. Growing up in a farming household, he faced many hardships and experienced the struggles of both farming and manual labor. These challenges profoundly shaped his worldview, instilling in him a deep desire to break free from poverty and, more importantly, to help others do the same. Witnessing the cycles of exploitation firsthand, he dedicated his life to creating opportunities and empowering people to lead better, more dignified lives.

Pioneering Skill Development: A Vision Takes Shape

Driven by his passion for education and social upliftment, Malay Pit, along with a few close friends, established a training institute in 2003. Starting modestly by renting a single room in a college, his initiative was a testament to his unwavering commitment. Over the next two decades, Malay Pit became a name synonymous with transformation and consistent progress across West Bengal and India.

Through more than 100 skill development centers, he has empowered over 10 lakh individuals with valuable skills, bridging the gap between aspiration and opportunity. His dedication extends beyond training, as he has facilitated employment for more than 5 lakh students via a dedicated placement cell. Today, his students contribute to some of the country’s leading companies, a testament to the quality and relevance of the training provided. Malay Pit has also significantly impacted women's empowerment, transforming the lives of hundreds of women by helping them become entrepreneurs, fostering self-reliance, and economic independence.

Building Educational Foundations: A Network of Institutions

Mr. Pit's efforts in the education sector have been truly remarkable, marked by the establishment of over 50 academic institutions. These include two medical colleges, one B.Tech college, three diploma engineering colleges, twenty-five ITIs, seven nursing institutions, five paramedical colleges, and seven B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. institutes.

This extensive network of educational facilities has revitalized rural areas not only in Bengal but across several other states of India, providing access to quality education and professional training in regions previously underserved. He didn’t wait for change; he became the change.

A New Era of Positivity: The Genesis of POSITIVE Barta

In a world increasingly overwhelmed by negativity and chaos, Mr. Malay Pit introduced a revolutionary initiative to promote people's well-being. His actions speak volumes, and for the new-age problems, he came up with an impactful idea: POSITIVE Barta. This online platform, accessible at www.positivebarta.com, is dedicated to spreading positivity, encouraging progress, and inspiring action.

Through POSITIVE Barta, Mr. Malay Pit has brought together a dynamic network of social media influencers, digital platforms, YouTubers, and independent media outlets. All these entities work collaboratively to promote productive and progressive news, ideas, and content that can drive meaningful change. The initiative serves as a vital counterbalance to the overwhelming negativity often seen in mainstream media, offering a space that not only highlights the positive but actively promotes stories of empowerment, progress, and transformation.

Accolades and Recognition: A Legacy Honored

Born with a compassionate heart and guided by a purpose beyond self, Mr. Pit walked into villages with no doctors, classrooms with no teachers, and families with no hope. He didn’t wear a cape; he wore kindness, and with it, he stitched broken lives back together. For these ground-breaking contributions, he has earned widespread recognition and numerous prestigious honors.

His accolades include the Leadership Innovation Excellence Award by the Institute of Economic Studies (2020), the Innovative and Excellence Award by the National Economic Summit (2020), and a Certificate of Excellence in Rural Healthcare. He was also recognized as the Emerging Private Medical College at the News18 Bangla Healthcare Summit (2023) and received accolades for Excellence in the Rural Healthcare System. In 2025, he was honored with the Zee 24 Ghanta Health Conclave Award and the “Outstanding Social Worker in Rural India” award by Zee 24 Ghanta. His achievements in Eastern India were further acknowledged by the News18 Bangla Excellence in Healthcare and Medical Studies award. In addition, he received an Honorary Doctorate from Socrates Social Research University (2024), the IBR Achiever Award by the India Book of Records (2025), and awards from both the Asia Book of Records and the World Book of Records in 2025.

A Lifeline for Many: The Unspoken Legacy

To some, he is Dr. Malay Pit; to others, he is “Malay Da” or “Malay Sir.” But to hundreds, he is a lifeline. And though he asks for nothing, the legacy he leaves behind speaks louder than words. It is a legacy of hope, of service, of humanity – a profound testament that to serve is to live beyond oneself.
