DRDO Consultant Recruitment 2025: The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), under the Ministry of Defence, has invited applications for the post of Consultant on a short-term contract basis. The appointment is specifically for the Chief Construction Engineer (R&D) Estates North, Chandigarh.

Educational Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification: Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Mandatory Experience:
• Retired officials from Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous bodies.
• At least 7 years of experience in organizations like DRDO, MES, CPWD, PWD, or equivalent at Pay Level 10/11.
• Experience in estimation systems, bills scrutiny, supervision of E&M works, and defence works procedures.
• Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience with DRDO.
• Familiarity with municipal bye-laws, estate management, guest house operations, audit handling, etc.

Age Limit:

• Maximum Age: 63 years as on the closing date of application (07 August 2025).

Salary & Allowances:

For Pensioners:

• Remuneration: Last pay drawn minus pension.
• Conveyance Allowance: ₹3,000 per month.

For Non-Pensioners:

• No other allowances: No medical, housing, staff, or CGHS benefits provided.
• Leave: 1.5 days of paid leave per month of service.

Terms & Conditions

• Tenure: Initially for 1 year, extendable based on requirements.
• Not re-employment: Consultants will not be treated as government employees.
• Gap requirement: Minimum 15-day gap between retirement and consultancy engagement.
• Conduct: Must sign NDAs and adhere to all DRDO and government service conduct rules.
